Our story

Founded in 2002 by Executive Director Michael Healy, Spectacular Freedom offers a “clean and sober” housing program in which all tenants involved are required to abstain from using alcohol and illegal drugs. The residents are equipped with recovery tools that are based on the concepts that Michael has acquired from more than two decades of personal freedom from addiction.

Beginning to experiment with drugs and alcohol at only 10 years old, Michael went through three drug rehabilitation centers during his early teen years. While residing at a long term boys ranch at the age of 16, he determined to take whatever steps were necessary to overcome his addiction.

Today Michael shares his story in jails, prisons and treatment centers and encourages others that they and their loved ones can also experience this same freedom.
